FRESH is a modern IP boutique, focused on supporting emerging deep tech companies.

Our story

At the end 2019, the founders of FRESH decided to create a firm that would be a breath of FRESH air. We were in different firms and decided to create a firm that we would love to be part of.

We created a lean, tech-based, structure. We picked the most amazing people we could find and hit the start button on the 1st of January 2020.

Two months later when the pandemic hit and the world has been trying to figure out how to work flexibly and remotely, we were prepared. During 2021, we doubled and our growth is accelerating as we focus on our core advantages – great team, great clients, great service.

Our culture

The pandemic made it clear for everyone how important social interaction is. At FRESH, we work as a unified team with collaboration and mutual support being important values.

We offer flexibility on location of work. In fact, our attorneys are currently in Virginia, Kansas City, South Carolina, California, Texas, the UK, Israel, Portugal and Hong-Kong. We have only senior attorneys and most of our support staff graduated from the best universities in the world.

Despite our wide national and international footprint, we don’t consider ourselves a virtual firm. We value the opportunity to meet in-person, connect and support each other.

Our focus is on providing strong, creative and strategic IP advice to smart clients who value it. We do not have billable hour targets or strict HR policies.

Our clients

We support Innovative companies and universities with a particular focus on start-up companies.

This means, first and foremost, offering strategic, sophisticated and global advice that aligns with their business objectives.

However, we don’t stop at legal advice. We have a unique start-up program and we support start-ups extensively with reduced fees, mentoring and even fund-raising. As a result, our clients are constantly exiting and we have seen multiple companies grow from pre-seed to unicorn status.

In addition to IP owners, we support IP attorneys in over 20 countries who want to work with an all-star team of U.S. patent and trademark prosecution experts.

Doing good

We believe in paying it forward and in supporting important causes.

Our “doing good” activity is concentrated under the name “FRESH FOR THE FUTURE”. It includes significant contributions to offset climate emissions (we are a carbon negative company) and pro bono activity in providing IP advice to people from disadvantaged backgrounds at no cost.
